Every session begins before the session begins. A person arrives already carrying the morning they've had, the version of themselves they performed at work, the argument still unresolved from the night before.
The room doesn't ask you to leave any of it at the door.
Part of the work is simply noticing what's already present — and asking what it might mean to set some of it down, if only for an hour.
